Onboard Electrical started in 2003 and the team has over 10 years experience servicing the marine industry in Auckland and the upper North Island .
We have well equipped workshop facilities between Westhaven Marina and the Viaduct, to service and test all your marine equipment. All our electricians are 230V registered and hold current practicing licenses.
Design:
Onboard Electrical has had a lot of experience designing electrical systems, and know how to think outside the square to get around any design limitations.
We will provide excellent design solutions, and ensure the design is worked through and executed to the highest quality.
Install:
We can install all marine electrical equipment; from a bilge pump to an Integrated Navigational System, and everything in between.

Maintain:
We offer comprehensive maintenance packages.
We will regularly service and maintain your boats electrical systems, either monthly, bi-monthly, or twice yearly. The package will be tailor made to each owner's requirements and any recommendations to improve the systems will be advised.
Some maintenance checks we will perform:
- Checking and testing the batteries (see information below: Battery control, Charging and Management. This would be a pdf link to the info below)
- Check the starting performance of the engines; test the charging and engine alarms
- Checking the operation of bilge pumps and their float switches
- Bilge high water alarms
- Anchor Winches
- Run the pumps
- Operate and Test Toilets
- Nav Lights
- Interior and Exterior Lights
A great example of where preventive maintenance really helps is the anchor winch. This is one of the most miss treated items on your boat. Most of the time stuck in the harshest environment onboard then forgotten about, until you peer in there to find out why your anchor won't come up, finding a mixture of rust and corrosion. If installed right and given a twice yearly service your winch will last years longer and save you a costly repair, and in most cases a replacement.

Repair:
Onboard Electrical offers "A" grade diagnosis and repairs on most electrical systems. If the problem is too severe to repair then we can source and provide you with a replacement product or system.
